Dear Mr. Alberici and Mr. Wedel,

We fully understand the difficult and uncertain situation related to the Covid-19 pandemic, especially throughout Europe. Health and safety are extremely important and should be our primary concern. We understand that canceling trips is the right decision to prevent the spread of the virus.

That said, we wish to try and ask you to reconsider the permanent cancellation of the S6 trips. We fully understand that you are doing this out of concern for the safety of the teachers, ourselves and everyone we would come in contact afterwards. We are sure that making this decision was not easy, and that you are as disappointed with this cancellation as we are.

However, the S6 trips are considered the highlight of school life in our school. Many of us have been thinking about this trip since primary, hearing about what we all thought would be the best school trip ever. Since December, when our respective trips and trip groups were announced, we've been thinking about what we'll do during the trip, dreaming of all the activities we would do. Whether it was stargazing in Tenerife, rafting in Bosnia or any other activity, we all looked forward to these would-be great moments of our trips.

It is quite likely that we would never be able to go on such a trip again. The S6 trips have been a tradition of European Schools for decades and we would be the first year group to not participate in one. We know from students who went to the trip in the past that it's a truly amazing experience that will provide us with amazing memories and will teach us better social skills and independence, qualities that are very useful in our future lives

Thus, we kindly ask you, please, do not cancel the S6 trips. Postponing the trip to a later date would be the best option for everyone. We have also agreed that, despite the necessary BAC preparations, the trip taking place during S7 would be the best option, ideally in September or October.

Sincerely,

The S6 year group
